Working with Alchemy
Behind the Scenes: Filming Alchemy’s ETHDenver Recap with Creation Visuals
When Alchemy reached out to us about capturing their presence at ETHDenver, we knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary event shoot. ETHDenver is one of the biggest and most energetic gatherings in the blockchain world, and Alchemy wanted more than just a highlight reel. They wanted a full recap video plus two additional marketing videos that could showcase their brand, their team, and their role in the Web3 space.
Brice, Seth, and the rest of our Creation Visuals crew were all in. What followed was an unforgettable week of filming, editing, and collaborating with one of the most exciting companies in crypto.
What ETHDenver is All About
For those new to the scene, ETHDenver is the world’s largest Ethereum-focused event. Thousands of developers, builders, and blockchain enthusiasts travel to Denver every year to code, collaborate, and celebrate all things Web3. It’s not just a conference, it’s part hackathon, part festival, part community rally.
That kind of energy is gold for video, but it also means you have to be ready for anything. Crowded stages, packed workshops, impromptu networking in hallways, those all mean it’s a nonstop flow of moments you don’t want to miss as a video team.
How Creation Visuals Partnered with Alchemy
Alchemy asked us to create three videos during the week:
-
A main event recap that captured the vibe of ETHDenver and their team’s involvement
-
Two marketing videos they could use across social, web, and client presentations
From the beginning, the partnership felt natural. The Alchemy team gave us full access to their events, demos, and even behind-the-scenes brainstorms. That trust allowed us to film not just the polished moments, but also the authentic, human side of their team.
Brice and Seth took the lead in directing and shooting, while the rest of the Creation Visuals crew handled editing and post-production. By being flexible and collaborative, we were able to pivot quickly and capture content that mattered in the moment, whether it was a keynote, a demo, or a fully booked-out coffee shot meet-and-greet.
Behind the Scenes on the Ground
Shooting a major event like ETHDenver takes planning and hustle. Here’s a glimpse of how we made it happen:
Pre-production: We scouted venues, built a shot list with Alchemy, and packed gear backups for every scenario. We even had Brice set up with a full easy-rig cinema camera, running around the event (reach out if you want pictures).
On-site: Brice and Seth floated between stages, workshops, and networking events to capture high-energy b-roll, interviews, and team moments. We worked in real time, adjusting as the event evolved, and even pulled together a teaser video for Alchemy to share during the week.
Post-production: Back at the studio, we logged hours of footage, built a narrative arc for the recap, and polished everything with color grading, sound design, and branded graphics. Alchemy ended up with a recap video that captured the buzz of ETHDenver plus two versatile marketing pieces they could use long after the event.
Why This Project Stood Out
What made this shoot special wasn’t just the event itself, it was the collaboration. The Alchemy team was fun, engaged, and open to creative ideas. They have one of the funniest marketing strategies of any company we’ve worked with (it involves a lot of memes). Their energy matched the energy of ETHDenver, and that made our job even more exciting.
For us at Creation Visuals, projects like this are why we love what we do. We don’t just show up to film, we immerse ourselves in the story, the people, and the brand. By the end of the week, we weren’t just a vendor for Alchemy; we felt like part of their team.
Final Thoughts
ETHDenver is a whirlwind, and capturing it in a way that does justice to the experience is no small task. But with the right mix of planning, creativity, and collaboration, it’s possible to turn that energy into video content that lives on long after the event is over.
Working with Alchemy was a blast, and we’re proud of the recap and marketing videos we created together. If you’re a brand looking to capture your next big event with the same level of energy and storytelling, Creation Visuals is ready to help.
